In Perusall, there's no "submit" button for assignments. Once you press Enter/Return to submit a comment, it's automatically saved and counted towards your score. No extra steps are needed—your work is already being tracked! To continuously improve your score, you can continue working up until the assignment deadline.
To track your progress in an assignment, check the Assignment information tab indicated by the lightning bolt icon. Once within the assignment information tab, there is a variety of helpful information you may see depending on your instructor's preferences and settings. Possible student-facing features include:
- The assignment deadline
- Assignment instructions
- Assignment learning objectives
- An AI Assessment Scale level (AIAS), which gives you insight into how AI can be used in relation to your assignment, ranging from not at all to full collaboration.
- Paige, our little bookworm, who tells you how many comments or replies you've posted, how many responses or upvotes your comments have received, as well as a checklist of all requirements to complete your assignment.
To ensure your work is accurately recorded, always enter your reading through the Assignments tab and or by clicking assignment link from within your LMS (e.g. Canvas, Blackboard, D2L...).
Pro Tip: Research shows that you’ll learn more if you come back to the assignment a few times to participate in discussions. Instead of doing everything in one go, try returning later to ask more questions or add new comments. It helps reinforce what you're learning and keeps the conversation alive!
