How do I take a screenshot or screen recording?

To help us identify and fix the issue as quickly as possible, it can be helpful to see a screenshot or screen recording of the problem that you're experiencing. If you're not familiar with how to take a screenshot or how to record your screen, this page describes how to do that based on the kind of computer you have.

Mac

Taking a screenshot

Press and hold Command and Shift keys, and then press the key. The screenshot will then save to your desktop.

Taking a screen recording

This page describes how to use QuickTime Player to record all or part of your screen. You can also use Screencastify to take screen recordings.

Windows

Taking a screenshot

Press and hold the Windows key, and then press the PrtScn key. The screenshot will then save to the Screenshots folder.

Taking a screen recording

Press and hold the Windows and Alt keys, and then press the R key to start recording. Press the same key combination again to stop recording. The screen recording will then save to the Videos > Captures folder. You can also use Screencastify to take screen recordings.
