With books from our catalog or material of your own, you have the option to create a Workshop, Book Club, or Journal Club in Perusall. You will find these options next to the "Course" button on your course home page. It looks like this:
Workshops
For a Workshop, you'll first want to give it a name, institution affiliation, and a start date. A workshop is great for uploading a manuscript or other material that you'd like reviewed by your colleagues!
You'll see a familiar page that looks like your normal course page:
You can either import material from an existing workshop or create a new one:
From here, go ahead and update your start and end dates, the department affiliation, and your welcome message:
Finally, you are able to invite your colleagues to join your workshop:
You are able to continuously add or remove material in your library after you've created your workshop. You can also adjust adjust settings for your reviewers, TAs, and authors under Settings > Access.
Book Clubs or Journal Clubs
Similarly to a Workshop, you can create a Book or Journal Club in your home page:
Similar to the Workshop, you will create a title and a start date (you do not need to include an institution for these).
You will follow a similar setup process for the Workshop. You can then request books from our Catalog, or you can upload materials into your club. You can also access books you've already purchased in these groups.
- Note: if you request a book, it will need to be approved via Perusall staff, so please allow for time.
Regarding access, you can invite new members or organizers via the settings > access tab on the left side of your screen.
