Threshold scoring allows instructors to grade Perusall assignments on a pass/fail basis, where students receive either full credit or no credit based on reaching a minimum required score.
How to set up threshold scoring
- Go to Settings > Scoring > Basics and scroll down to Automatic Scoring.
- Create a new scoring template or edit an existing scoring template.
- Scroll to the bottom and enter a value in the Threshold score for credit field.
When a threshold is set, student scores in the Perusall Gradebook display as either 1 (meets threshold) or 0 (does not meet threshold).
Example: If your assignment scale is set to 0–3 and the threshold score is set to 2, students who earn a 2 or 3 will receive a 1, while students who earn a 0 or 1 will receive a 0.
When LMS gradebook column management is set to Automatic, scores sync to your LMS as either the maximum or minimum possible score in your assignment scale (e.g., on a 0–5 point scale, students will receive either a 5 for full credit or a 0 for no credit).
If you want to customize the score range sync, set your LMS gradebook column management to deep link mode.
