How does Perusall work with bookstores?

  • Updated

When an instructor notifies their bookstore that they plan to use a textbook through Perusall, the bookstore can purchase digital access codes from Perusall to sell directly to students. These access codes will be specific to your institution as well as the particular book the instructor wants to use in their course.

Many titles have both perpetual access and rental options (see the Perusall catalog for a listing of titles and purchase options). When multiple purchase options are available, bookstores can order access codes for any combination of options.

To order, please log into your Perusall Bookstore Account and follow the ordering instructions in the video below.

If you do not have a Bookstore Account, please contact our Operations Team at orders@perusall.com and include the following information:

  • Name of Institution (and campus if applicable)
  • The email address you would like to use for your Bookstore Account so we can send you an invitation to create your account

Question Icon (1).svg Q: What if I don't see my book?
A: If you do not see the book you are looking to order, please reach out to our Operations Team for assistance. Learn more about book availability.

Upon ordering, you will receive an electronic invoice from our system, a digital txt file containing a list of the access codes and a PDF of each individual code with redemption instructions for easy printing. (There is no physical product.) Perusall access codes come in the following format:

PERUSALL-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Students can also purchase access online through Perusall directly, with a credit card.

Only the Perusall version of the ebook will work on the Perusall platform. Bookstores must purchase codes from Perusall directly by submitting a purchase order- ebook codes from any other vendor are not supported on Perusall.
